The Dardenne Eye Clinic, founded in 1989, is a hospital in Bonn-Bad Godesberg. It offers the full spectrum of ophthalmology, both clinical and surgical.

Prof. Dr. Alireza Mirshahi, Director of the Dardenne Eye Clinic, describes in an interview the challenges that the coronapandemic has posed for the eye clinic. “We had to shorten the clinic’s consultation hours in order to maintain operations while maintaining space, safety and hygiene measures. Measures had to be taken in terms of space, safety and hygiene, which required a lot of organisational effort.

“Many of our distance, safety and sanitation measures will remain in place after the pandemic. Which exactly these will be, we will determine in a workshop,” explains Dr. Thomas Haupt. A final question to Dr. Haupt: Where else would you like to see such an air cleaner? A clear answer without much thought: in schools.
