People who talk, cough, cough, breathe or, for example, panting during exercise emit particles, also known as aerosols. An aerosol is a colloidal mixture of all kinds of solid, liquid and gas particles, with a size of 0.12 to 200 micrometers. Aerosols are proven carriers of germs and these tiny droplets can float in a room for hours. Breathing it in can cause illnesses such as the flu or illness from the coronavirus. All the more important that these particles are filtered out of the air.

"We now have fresh and healthy working and learning environments which makes us very happy of course."
At De Nassau, a comprehensive school, in Breda paying attention to and having respect for each other are key. This involves in thinking in opportunities and results and personal development are very important. This is promoted through high-quality education, careful student guidance and social involvement. De Nassau is a large school with two sites, three departments, about 1,800 pupils and 200 staff members. On a regular school day, there are many movements. Pupils changing classrooms, (teaching) staff at work, and in doing so extensive use is made of the media lab and study areas found throughout the school.
Hans Teunissen has been working at De Nassau for over 15 years. Initially, he started as a teacher now works as an inspired director and deputy rector, wanting the best for all pupils and staff. Hans Teunissen states: “A lot happens during a school day. Partly because of the many movements that take place every day, we find it very important that the air in every room is healthy and fresh. In particular, we mainly use natural ventilation and there was need for an addition to this.
Teunissen continues: “We learned that a study on improving air quality in schools. This research was set up by Professor Bert Blocken from Eindhoven University of Technology and the Catholic University of Leuven. After several discussions, we chose to equip our school with Euromate’s certified air purifiers to further improve the air quality”
Chris Westerveld, owner of Euromate: “At Euromate we develop our own air purifiers. We do that from our office in Breda, where we also assemble the devices. Next to that we install the air purifiers ourselves and also do the maintenance.” He continues: “Our devices remove unwanted particles such a viruses, bacteria, pollen, fungi and (fine) dust from the air using various methods. This can be done through mechanical filtration, electrostatic filtration, UV or carbon filters. In the case of classrooms, we do this with fine-meshed mechanical filtration. De Nassau also chose this solution because it is the best way to remove the unwanted particles from the classrooms.
Teunissen adds: “We now have a combination of natural ventilation and Euromate’s air purifiers. This ensures good air quality in all areas. We have chosen for the VisionAir Blue Line. They are devices with a beautiful and sleek design, that hang neatly from the ceilings. They don’t really stand out and fit well with the appearance of the rooms.” He concludes: “Our experiences are very good and the cooperation with Euromate is going very well. For example, we were able to make good agreements about the installation of the devices. This was done outside class times on weekends and in school holidays. As a result, no inconvenience occurred. And the most important thing is that we now have fresh and healthy working and learning environments, which of course makes us very happy!”
The VisionAir Blue Line air purifier from Euromate significantly improves the air quality. This ensures a fresh and pleasant working environment and had a positive effect on productivity and sick leave. The air is recirculated, polluted indoor air is cleaned and clean air is blown back into the room. That way no valuable heated or cooled air is lost.
The modern design of the VisionAir Blue Line fits well in every interior. Moreover, the air cleaner produces little noise and is very user-friendly in operation. To spread an extra fresh scent throughout the room, the air cleaners can be equipped with Free Breeze scent cartridges.
