Euromate celebrates 50 years of innovation in air cleaning with planting of 50 trees
Planting trees for cleaner air
In honour of our 50th anniversary, together with Viridi Air and the Forestry Commission, we planted 50 trees in the Merkske nature reserve, near the Belgian-Dutch border. This symbolic action is perfectly in line with our mission: improving air quality.
‘For 50 years, we have been removing harmful substances such as particulate matter from indoor air, while trees do this naturally for outdoor air,’ says Daniel Gooijer, managing director of Euromate. ‘This initiative is a great way to celebrate our anniversary as well as contribute to a healthier living environment.’
A contribution to nature restoration
The Merkske is a valuable stream valley landscape, where Staatsbosbeheer is working on nature restoration. ‘Intensive agriculture has caused many coppice walls to disappear here,’ says Helmut Van Pelt, Forest Ranger Public at Staatsbosbeheer. ‘Thanks to initiatives like this one, we are helping to bring nature back into balance.’
Viridi Air director Jan-Joris van de Riet also stresses the importance of this planting: ‘The less fine dust in the outdoor air, the less pollution indoors. This project contributes to both, and we are happy that Euromate is so actively committed to this.’
