More than 3.6 billion tons of coal was burned in China in 2013. This is more than all other countries combined. The last country that burned that much coal was England in 1860. And they paid a high price for it.
In her documentary “Under the Dome” Jing Chai raises awareness for an imminent air pollution disaster in China similar to the one that happened in England in 1952.
After only seeing the first 20 minutes, I was already highly impressed. I can imagine that this movie will (and should) have a serious impact on air pollution awareness in China and the rest of the world. In fact, I believe that the documentary should convince everyone how important clean air really is. Air pollution certainly does not stop at your front door or window. It will penetrate into our houses.
