Climate change – 2015 a year of rethink

During the 60s and 70s climatologists concluded that the earth is warming up. Shortly after that, they found out, that global warming is closely related to the increase of CO2 in the atmosphere. If things are not going to change in the future, the earth might be uninhabitable for our grandchildren. Something needs to be done.

The UN organised the United Nations Climate Change Conference last November in Paris. The conference aimed to reduce greenhouse gases worldwide, but also to attach a control system to the goals.

The conference was a big success. The most important results were the following: The worldwide increase of the temperature needs to be reduced to 2°C in 2100. This in relation with the temperature level before the rise of the industry sector. At best, the increase of 2°C will even be reduced to 1,5°C.

First smog free tower in the Netherlands

The Dutch artist Daan Roosegaarde found a special way to draw attention to the issue of air pollution. He built the first smog-free tower in Rotterdam to do something about the air pollution in the city. Eventually, he makes jewellery from the acquired dust.

A drop on the increasing fine dust plate

The past year, we had the highest export of our Grace air cleaners to China. Obviously, this is just a drop on the increasing fine dust plate. We know, that we cannot eliminate the cause of air pollution with our air cleaner. However, as long as their is no sufficient solution for the outside pollution, our air cleaners constitute a relief for the indoor climate.

Fortunately, big changes are happening. People become more conscious about the pollution around them. The conference in Paris was a first important step. We are looking forward to a brighter future and wish you a successful 2016!
